Speedware and Hewlett-Packard Renew Long-term Relationship to
Drive Speedware Technologies on the HP 3000 Platform
Speedware Corporation (TSE:SPW.) Today Speedware Corporation announced a new drive to reinvigorate its long-standing technology relationship with Hewlett-Packard (HP).
To kick off this effort, Speedware has announced that its state-of-the-art application development tools, Speedware Autobahn and Visual Speedware, will be jointly marketed for the HP 3000 business servers. Speedware Autobahn is the first Rapid Application Development tool for the creation of Web applications and can also Web-enable existing applications. Visual Speedware delivers the capabilities of the Visual Basic GUI-development environment to HP enterprise-scale, client/server platforms.
Today's announcement is a natural pairing of two established technologies. Speedware built its reputation by delivering tools that reduce the time and expense of application development. Speedware tools also provide clients the flexibility to integrate their technologies across platforms as diverse as MPE/iX, HP-UX, and Windows NT.
With its HP 3000 platform, HP has achieved long-term viability by providing customers with business-critical, worry-free computing solutions. By adding new life to existing applications, HP 3000 customers are Web-enabling their infrastructure and using Speedware Autobahn and Visual Speedware to optimize their existing HP3000 investment.
"Speedware puts a new face on your HP 3000," says Chris Koppe, Speedware's Director of Marketing, Development Technology Division. "Visual Speedware and Speedware Autobahn let you replace your character-based terminal interfaces with graphical Visual Basic and Web-enabled interfaces. Speedware Autobahn is the first and only Web Application Development toolset for the HP 3000. It can use the HP 3000 as a Web application server that lets users access information anywhere in the world via the Web."
Speedware Corporation (TSE:SPW) is a global vendor of client/server and Internet development tools and services.
