Vic: Police remove barricaded glass workers

Police have removed 20 workers who had barricaded themselves inside a Melbourne glass
moulding plant.

The workers were protesting at being locked out of the ACI's Box Hill plant during
an enterprise bargaining dispute.

Australian Manufacturing Workers Union spokesman PETER GIBBONS says police removed
20 dayshift workers early today.

It's the second lockout in a week.

Mr GIBBONS has told ABC radio the workers co-operated with the police.

Last Friday the Federal Court ordered the reinstatement of the workers after ACI stood
them down nine days earlier.

Justice ALAN GOLDBERG then ruled that the lockout notice by ACI was invalid and had no effect.

The AMWU has accused the company of attempting to intimidate workers to seek concessions
in an enterprise bargaining dispute.
